Beyond the Surface: Unearthing Climate Justice Narratives

Why oral history?

An oral history is a record in the actual voice of the people. It provides an authentic truth that cannot be acquired any other way. It is absent the bias of the investigator. It is the pure story of reality.

In no other way can the actual words of someone’s heart be preserved.

These stories can then be used by historians, sociologists, lobbyists, activists, to bring real stories to decision makers.

Climate change is something that happens to someone else until you hear a real person’s story in their voice. We think this is the most effective way to bring the reality of this problem to those who can make a difference.

We are building an oral history of climate change and justice. We also highlight other oral history collections.

Real people tell their stories about climate change.

Share your own stories of climate change and justice to be included in the Podcast.
